FLEXIFF to screen Iran doc

Iranian documentary ‘Mashti Esmaeil’ has been scheduled to go on screen in the 15th edition of Experimental International Film Festival in Australia.

Directed by Mahdi Zamanpour Kiasari, ‘Mashti Esmaeil’ depicts an old man who went blind at the age of 40 because of a genetic disorder. ‘Mashti Esmaeil’ is a man with physical disability, who in addition to performing his daily personal tasks, is able to do the things that healthy people are incapable of doing.  

The documentary has previously won several awards including the best film award at the 8th Aljazeera International Documentary Film Festival in 2012.

The FLEXIFF will be held in Sydney on September 23 and 24, 2017.
